STUDENTS CONTINUED to wade, slide, slip, and fall oai the two
inches of slush which covered the campus yesterday and today.
Above, one student aids another who fell victim to the slippery
stuff. Relief for the harried students is seen today as the weather
man predicts frequently sunny weather. The high today will be
around 40 with an expected low of 30 tonight. The high yesterday
was 36.

McCoy Names
Top Facilities
Sixteen modern bowling alleys,
an 800-capacity outdoor ice skat
ing rink, and 20-capacity rifle
range were named as 1955’s top
contributions to Penn State’s ever
expanding student recreational
program.
Two of the contributions—bowl
ing alleys and rifle range—are
housed m Recreation Hall. Four
of the 16 alleys are located in
White Hall, women’s physical ed
ucation center.
These and other improvements,
according to E. B. McCoy, direc
tor of athletics and Dean of the
College of Physical Education, are
designed to meet the insistent and
growing demand for recreational
opportunity on the part of the
University’s 14,000 students.
Dean McCoy named an indoor
swimming pool, a classroom build
ing along the general lines of the
present Recreation Hall, and field
house as the most urgent needs
of the future.
