As a result of last night’s bouts, when Delta Upsilon entered another man—its fourth— into the finals, Phi Kappa Sigma was dethroned. It is the fifth IM mitt title since 1949 for DU. Phi Kappa Sigma won in’s3 and’s4. ~ _ TT ... • Individual honors, and not the fraternity laurels wiU go on the block tonight. DU—which en tered the semi-finals Wednesday with 65 points, and then picked up 20 more with four semi-final wins—now has 85 points. Phi Kappa Sigma has 55 points with two finalists. Ten points are awarded for a finalist, and 20 for each champ. Therefore, Phi Kappa Sig’s best score would read 105 compared to DU’s least possible total of 125. Phi Kappa Sig however has the runnerup spot clinched over Sig ma Nu. And if last night’s fights were an indication of what is to come, fistic fans will be in for a thrill packed evening. Seven semi-final bouts were fought last night, and each one brought a heavy ap plause from the fans. The opening bout sent Phi Kap-. pa Sigma’s Guy Tirabassi into-the 165-pound finals against Sigma Pi’s Steve Flamporis. Tirabassi, last year’s 155-pound fraternity king, eliminated Tau Kappa Ep silon’s Fred Donahoe from the tourney when he decked the TKE entry in the third round with a hard right to the head. Earlier, Donahoe had kept on an even keel with the stylist Tirabassi. Both fighters impressed the judges with their toe-to-toe battle tactics in the first two periods, and it wasn’t until the final round that Tirabassi gained' control of the fight. Flamporis, captain elect for the varsity soccer team, advanced to the finals with a forfeit win over Ray Flint, Theta Kappa Phi.
