PAGE TWELVE Fraternity Rushing To Start Monday Formal fraternity rushing will get underway Monday night when freshmen in sections of the West Dorms will meet with Inter . fraternity Council representatives to discuss as pects of fraternity life. Sections of the West Dorms representatives will be notified Land, IFC rushing - chairman, an nounced last night. In addition to Monday night's schedule, discussion groups will be held Thursday night in the re maining sections of the Wset Dorms and the Nittany-Pollock areas. Fraternity Life Topics At the meetings, Land said, IFC representatives will 'discuss such subjects as the most of liv ing in a fraternity and the ad vantages of fraternity life. IFC rushing booklets and frat ernity preference cards' will -be distributed to freshmen. • On Tuesday and Wednesday nights a film, "A Toast To Our Brother," will be shown in 119 . Osmond. There will be two show ings each night, Land said. The movie will run from 7 to 8:30 p.m., and from 8:30 to 10 p.m. Prior to each showing. of the movie, Land and John Russell, IFC vice president, will address the students. Opin Houses Scheduled The concentrated rushing pro gram will conclude with frater nity open houses Oct. 23. Each house will conduct student tours in order to better acquaint stu dents with the fraternities. Another open house is also scheduled for Nov. 13, Land said. To be eligible to pledge a frat ernity, freshmen must have a 2.0 All-University average for the semester previous to pledging. Freshmen are not allowed to pledge during their first semester, and cannot live in a house until their third semester.
