SHOWN HERE are three of the trophies awarded to fraternity
houses by the Intramural Department for winning various IM
tournaments. Pictured at the left is the All-Year Around Trophy
copped by Phi .Delta Theta. In the center is the soccer trophy
captured by the hooters of Alpha Sigma Phi. At the right is the
trophy won by the cindermen of Kappa Alpha Psi for grabbing
IM track honors. Trophies similar to those shown here are
awarded to each victorious fraternity in recognition of their
conquests.

All IM contests, are governed
by modified rules , established by
the intramural department.
Approximately one out of every
four male undergraduate students
participates in the program ac
cording to last year's statistics.
Records show that over 3000 men
competed in IM athletics over
the course of the year.
In 4955, wrestling drew the
biggest enrollment for individ
ual competition while basketball
was first in team enrollment with
134 entries. Volleyball was second
in team entries with 130.

mined by the total number of
points accumulated throughout
the year in the various tourneys,
with 842.5 points. Sigma Nu fin
ished second with 814 points fol
lowed by Beta Theta Pi with 657.
In independent activity, the
Fireballs, perennial champions
for the past three years, success
fully retained their coveted
crown in touch football.
In fraternity volleyball, Delta
Chi retained the crown for the
second straight year as they de
feated Theta Xi in 2 out of 3.
Wrestling and boxing prove to
be the top crowd getters among
the winter events, while track
competition gathered the most
spectators in the spring.

Qualifying Rounds Start
For IM Golf Tourney
The all-University golf tourna
ment will get under way this
morning at the golf course, ac
cording to Bob Rutherford, head
golf coach.
Rutherford said that any under
graduate at the University is eli
gible to participate in the tourna
ment.
Participants will play qualify
ing rounds this week and next
week.
The world has 90,000 to 100,000
more human beings each 24 hours.
