Cabinet Seat
Ratio Approved
An amendment to the All-Uni
versity elections code which
would stipulate that the five All-
University Cabinet seats elected
each spring will go to fraternity
and independent men at a 8 to 2
ratio was approved by All-Uni
versity Elections Committee on
Thursday night.
Three independents and two
fraternity men will fill the seats
one year and three fraternity men
and two independents the next.
This amendment will replace
the unwritten agreement which
stipulates that offices will rotate
between fraternity men and in
dependent hien each year.
The that no fraternity
man may oppose an independent
man in an election will still hold
for offices which do not have
seats on Cabinet.

A man stood in a courtyard one night denying with an oath that he
knew THE Man. The pathetic figure was Simon Peter.
Another disciple had committed a $2O doublecross only hours before.
That tragic figure was Judas Iscariot.
Both had sinned grieviously. Yet the issue of the matter in each case
differed from the other.
Judas tried to reconcile the situation after he realized he had be
trayed an innocent Man. But the authorities would not take back the
30 pieces of silver. So, overcome by remorse which refused to plead of
God His forgiveness—for that would be weakness—Judas went out and
hanged himself. Death, physical and spiritual, was the issue of his sin.
Peter, after having his soul seared by the eyes of God in Jesus Christ,
went from the courtyard and wept bitterly. “And Peter remembered”
—remembered the infamy of his sin and that he was far from righteous
in the totality of his life. Remembered that Jesus had cleansed men of
sin, that he had showered men with the infinite love of God. Life and
power were the issue of his sin because he looked to heaven for re
clamation, forgiveness.
For life to be abundant we, too, must fall to our knees in sincere
recognition of our sin. From our knees we arise with the power of God
visited upon us through Christ Jesus, the Lord.
