Elections
(Continued from page one)
In the sophomore class race,
Samuel Wolcott, Lion, was elected
by 447 to 251 over Clinton Law,
State. The vice presidency went
to Theodore Simon, Lion, who re
ceived 396 votes to 300 for George
Haines:, State. Martha Fleming,
Lion, was elected secretary-treas
urer over Kaye Buterbaugh, State.
by 422 to 273.
John Spangler, State, defeated
George Wills, Lion, for the fresh
man class vice presidency 681 to
551. Lion Party took the freshman
class secretary-treasurer post as
Barbara Kinnier defeated Gail
Smith 737 to 498. •
The light vote was attributed by
Ernest Famous, Elections Com
mittee chairman, to the parties'
not using sound trucks yesterday
to remind students of the elec
tion.
In past years sound trucks have
toured the campus on elections
day urging students to, vote.
Famous said the parties prob
ably could not afford to pay for
the trucks because they were al
lowed to spend only $l5O for pub
licity. He said sound trucks will
be used to encourage students to
vote in the All-University elec
tions even if the Elections Com
mittee has to pay the expense.

to taste better!
What cigarette do college students go for?
According to the latest, biggest coast-to
coast survey, students prefer Luckies to all
other brands. And once again, the No. 1
reason is better taste. Of course Luckies
taste better. First of all, Lucky Strike
means fine tobacco. Then, that tobacco is
toasted to taste better. "It's Toasted"—the
famous Lucky Strike process—tones up
Luckies' light, mild, good-tasting tobacco
to make it taste even better. Try a pack.
Maybe you'll be as fortunate as the student
in the Droodle to the right, titled: Lucky

chine. Even if you're not, you'll enjoy the
better-tasting cigarette . . Lucky Strike.

announced, Schravesande, fresh
man class president-elect, said:
"I wish to thank the voters for
their support and hope to fully

Vice president-elect Spangler
said he would do his best and that
with cooperation the class could

Miss Kinnier, secretary-treasurer

The two amendments advocat

An amendment to article -1 sec

unable to attend and that the
hierarchy as established by the

The other change provides that
