PAGE 1 Bloodmobile Exceeds Goal By 70 in Two-Day Drive By INEZ ALTHOUSE The blood drive completed yesterday exceeded its 300-pint goal by 70 pints. Three hundred severity pints were collected by the Johnstown Bloodmobile in the two-day drive yesterday and `Wednesday in the Temporary Union Building. "It was a wonderful visit," Benjamin A. Whisler, chairman of the blood program for the State Ccllege Chapter of the American Red Cross, said last night. "We ran way over the quota both days. I was very pleased to see the students turning out like that." One hundred seventy-two pints were collected Wednesday, ex ceeding the daily goal of 150 by 22 pints. Yesterday's goal was ex ceeded, by 48 pints, with a total of 198 pints. Yesterday's totals showed that of 120 donors scheduled, 99 ap peared to give blood. Walk-ins for the day totaled 127. Twenty six persons were rejected. Of the 200 persons who donated yester day, 90 were first-time donors. One student told attendants yesterday he was giving a pint of blood to replace one receive,d by his mother in an emergency in a Reading hospital. Richard H.
