Hort Show
To Be Given
For Alumni

The 41st Annual Hort Show, a
feature of Homecoming Week
end, will be held from 10 a.m.
to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m.
to 5 p.m. tomorrow in the Stock
Judging Pavilion.
The theme, “Today’s Garden
Design," will show contemporary
gardening for today’s architec
ture in landscaping around the
front of a modern home. The 22-
foot ranch type home, completed
with a breezeway was' built by
members of the ■Horticulture
Club in one day.
A stone base with vertical
panels of wood was used to con
struct the house.
The landscaping will feature
flagstone walks, over 1400 square
feet of grass and turf, and a mod
ernistic pool, Howard Angstadt,
show manager, said.
The entrance to the pavilion
will be flanked on one side by a
fruit display, and on the other
by a vegetable garden with plant
breeders’ latest displays arranged
in the garden.
Chrysanthemums and roses will
be on display at the far end with
circular flower gardens surround
ing a willow tree and garden
statuary.
Visitors may buy apples and
cider at the sales booth.
More than thirty students are
working on the show which an
nually attracts over 10,000 visi
tors.
