I LUCKY STRIKE r j , „::,., Traffic- (Continued from page one) The University is tentatively planning to add 300 to 500 cam pus parking areas this summer. Weiner estimated. Campus parking lots can now hold a total of 3034 cars, Weiner said. The total number of cars, however, of students, graduates, and faculty and staff members who have permits totals 4123. "Our parking lots are now 136 per cent full," Weiner said, "but we are still short more than 1000 parking spaces ".. Weiner will also propose a plan to change the composition of stu dents of the traffic court commit tee itself.. It includes a plan for nine students. including two soph omores, four juniors, two seniors and one graduate student. One of the seniors would be chairman, and the other vice chairman. The number of fraternity and independent men on the commit tee would be equal, Weiner said. We also would like to change the plan of paying fines, Weiner said. The proposal will include a plan for the payment of fines incurred to the bursar instead of , to court or the dean of men. . Registration of Cars A new registration plan for stu dents who have cars at the Uni versity is also included in Wein er's proposals. "If" a student will haVe a car at the University more than three weeks," Weiner explained, "he \~ ( ~:~~} THE DAT! sto COI tEGIANI STATE COLLEGE PE More Space Needed • ,-, L......; . .., 7.'.'.•'. •...,,. . . ..f::::::'' .. $2 fine will be enforced for violators who have not registered their cars. Weiner will • also propose the enforcement of a fine on viola tors who do not report within 36 hours after receiving a violation. The present System allows the vio lator 24 hours to report to the Campus Patrol office. New Fining Plan The f inai point of Weiner's traffic proposals to cabinet will be a system to change the present fining procedures. This will in clude a $1 fine for a first viola tion, a $3 fine for the second, and a $5 fine for the third which will •also place the student on probation. The fourth violation will cost the violator $lO, and a suspension of his driving privi legs on campus for 60 days. "If a fifth violatiOn -is received," Weiner said, "the plan would call for the car being sent home for 16 weeks." • Traffic conditions are irnprov- SALE - STILL GOING ON Pennants 49c Tee Shirts 89c Gym Bags $3.25 BBC in the TUB $5.00 in Sales; $l.OO in Merchandise Free PENN STATE BOOK WHAM 14 IbASTED" 4o +aste better .1.
