A "great many" violations of

This Message is Brought to You Thro
r THE DAILY COLLEGIAN. STATE COLLEGE, 'PENNSYLVANIA.
Talent
Socrates, before taking the Hemlock, said: "The unexamined life is
not worthy to be lived by man."
The New Year is a good time 'to dig below the surface into the deeps
of our being to ask some real questions. We live in an age when new
patterns and structures are in the making in struggle with those who are
in process of discard. In this state of flux, it is difficult to find true mean
ing and purpose for our lives. •
I suggest that we can find a clue to the true meaning of life in those
things we would believe and do if we knew we had only another day to
live. The wise face the meaning of change, life and death, and devote
their lives and energies to those things death cannot end. Life's most
significant meaning and possibilities are not found in• the attempt to
squeeze in sheer satisfaction before death. It is rather found in the heri
tage of men who preferred death to serve the life death cannot alter.
All people have this choice—to get in line with what God is doing in
the world and to make the exciting discovery that they know what the
score is.
Some such discovery is in store for you in the community of faith
and worship.
