pated in by the majority of the
members of a fraternity.
The chief fraternity complaint
against the University’s version of
the code is that it would be im
possible to get chaperones for all
events where they would be
necessary.
Housemother Solution
Another solution to the prob
lem suggested at Thursday’s IFC
meeting was the adoption of
housemothers. This proposal was
defeated by a vote'of 35 to 4.
The administration has main
tained its interpretation of the un
chaperoned dating code is not a
move toward housemothers. The
administration has also stated
there are no proposals before any
official body of the University
concerning housemothers.

Hosier Explains
Warm Weather
The warm temperatures that
Penn State has experienced for
the past week are not unusual for
this time of year, according to the
University Weather Station.
Dr. Charles Hosier, meterologist
in charge of the station, said tem
peratures vary greatly during this
time of year, sometimes, running
as high as. 90 degrees. He ex
plained that mild weather is due
to the influence of a high-pres
sure area passing over the district.
Colder weather is expected with
in the next week.
The forecast shows continued
mild weather for tomorrow, with
some cloudiness in the afternoon.
Colder weather, with possible
showers in the afternoon, is anti
