PAGE EIGHT 140 to Receive Navy Training Nearly 140 students enrolled in the Navy ROTC program at the College will participate in cruises or special active-duty training programs this summer, Capt. Row land H. Groff, professor of naval science, has announced. Sixty students will leave July 13 from Norfolk on cruises to Edinburgh, Scotland, and Oslo, Norway, or Bergen, Norway, and Copenhagen, Denmark. Twenty-seven students will sail July 20 on a cruise to Colon, Pan ama, and Trinidad. Forty-two midshipmen will par ticipate in three weeks of am phibious training at the Naval Amphibious Base, Little Creek, Va., and in three weeks of avia tion training at Corpus Christi, Tex. Nine students seeking com missions in the U.S. Marine Corps will receive special training June 22 to Aug 1 at Quantico, Va. Debaters Sponsor Intrasquad Contest Final semester project for the men's debate team will be an in trasquad speaking contest at 7 tonight, according to Prof. Joseph F. O'Brien, men's debate coach. Thirty-one squad members will participate in the contest. Each debater will give an eight to ten minute speech on his own solution to the problem of dis crimination in employment. Previously, the constitution had allowed the election of only one person to fill both posts. Follow ing approval of the amendment, the council elected officers for the coming year. John Bricklemeyer was elected vice president; Cynthia Palmer, recording secretary; Bryan Trout man, corresponding secretary; and Rodney Beck, treasurer. Paul Brobit, sixth semester electrical engineer, had previously been named president. STATE COLLEGE. .PENNSYLVANIA Openings Available In Summer Resorts A large percentage of 1500 summer resort and camp jobs for students are still available, according to John Huber, stu dent employment director. Over 235 camps and ,50 re sorts are in contact with this agency this year, Huber said. Nineteen camps have been scheduled to send representa tives to the College for student interviews this year, as com pared to nine camps that sent representatives last year.
