Piano Concert
To Be Given
Monday Night
Iren Marik, Hungarian-born pi
anist, will present a concert at
8:15 p.m. Monday in Schwab Aud
itorium. The concert is sponsored
by the Association of American
Colleges and the Department of
Music and is open to the public
without charge.
Miss Marik will conduct a mas
ter class for students of the State
College schools and students -at
the College from 9 to 11 a.m.
Tuesday. The class, will be held
in Schwab Auditorium and will
be open to the public.
Miss Marik is a graduate of the
Franz Lisit Academy of Music in
Budapest. After a series of re
citals in Europe she launched her
American career with a concert at
New York's Town Hall.
'She is now on the faculty of
Sweet Briar College and is com
bining her profession of concert
pianist with that of a music teach
er. Miss Marik says her aim is to
give her students a basic, simple
knowledge of piano technique on
which they can further build, if
they wish to continue their stu
dies.
'Roberta'
(Continued from page two)
Richard Wrentmore as Ladislaw,
the doorman-prince.
Elsie Ford was excellent in her
small comic dance. She's one per
son of whom we'd like to see
more.
The many required "set changes
resulted in none of them being
exceptionally good. However, this
is expected to some degree. Also
the costumes were very good.
The singing and dancing were
good especially some routines,
such as Tll Be Hard to Handle,"
"Smoke Gets in Your Eyes," "The
Touch of Your Hand," and "Mem
ories of Yesterday." However,
even these weren't enough to
completely hold the show to
gether.

by Cabinet. The recommendation,
presented by Interschool Council
Board President Lincoln Warren,
would provide for equal student
council assessments.
At present, the Agriculture and
Home Economics student councils
have fees of 75 and 25 cents each.
If a general and, equal council fee
existed, -the College could collect
fees at registration each semester.
Watson Opposes Plan
A second part of the ISCB plan
would distribute the money col
lected to each school council on
the basis of the number of stu
dents in the school. When ISCB
also suggested the West Dormitory
50-cent-a semester social fee be
collected when a student living in
the area paid for his room key.
Robert Watson, president of the
Engineering Student Council, said
his council probably would not
use the $BBO that would come to
the council each year under this
plan. It was suggested by other
members of cabinet that the 25
cent fee be subtracted from engi
neer's subscriptions to the Penn
State Engineer or that scholar
ships in the Engineering school
be set up.
Warrell said the board based
these suggestions on the need of
student councils for more money.
He read a letter from the admin
istration stating the additional 50
cents of the present 75 cent Agri
cultural fee would not be com
pulsory. The College would, how
ever, set up a place for additional
money to be collected, the letter
said.
