PAGE EIGHT Two Penalized For Dishonesty .Two students yesterday had their final marks altered by Mer rill Wood, associate professor of zoology, as a result of dishonesty on fall semester examinations. One, accused of having crib notes for the complete final, was failed. The other was zipped for neglecting to put his-notes out of eyesight as was prescribed at the start of the test. The offenders had been referred to Wood by the Senate disciplin ary committee after its investi gation failed to show evidence of a serious enough degree to war rant its action. Senate Ratifies Veterans Club The College Senate committee on student welfare has announced its approval of the constitution of the Penn State Veterans Club, thus establishing the blub as an official college organization. The committee gave full ap proval to the club’s proposed con stitution at a meeting Jan. 20. Richard Smith, president of the club, was told of the acceptance Monday. Dr. Joseph Lowe, professor of English, a World War II veteran, is adviser to the club. Working with Smith and Lowe in the or ganization of the club have been Charles Mayer, William Taber, Lloyd Bell, and Benjamin Zucker man. ROTC Prof Gets Oak Leaf Cluster Capt.. David H. Hornstein, as sistant professor of military sci ence and tactics, has- been' pre sented the Oak Leaf Cluster to the Bronze Star Medal for meri torious service in Korea from January to August, 1952. The award was presented to Captain Hornstein by President Milton S. Eisenhower. Captain Hornstein was grad uated from Penn State in 1948 with a B.S. degree in" physical education. He was captain of the 1947 basketball team, a member of the track team, Phi Kappa Tau, and Druids and Parmi Nous hat societies.
