DECEMBER 9, •1952 Three New Committees Appointed by Leonides Three committees to revise the LeonideS pamphlet, discuss the alumni association, and collect material for a bluebook file were organized at a Leonides meeting last night. • Vivian Peterson, president of the organization, appointed Ger trude. Kreider ,chairman of a corn mittee to revise . the pamphlet which Leonides distributes to in coming freshman women each fall.. Miss Peterson said changes in' the constitution. and on cam pus. have made revisions in the booklet desirable. - Sarah DeVita was named chair man of a committee to investigate the possibilities of organizing the proposed Leonides . alumnae' as sociation. The immediate duties of the committee will be studying similar . organizations in other colleges 'and' determine the type of organization which would most benefit independent women grad uates. In an effort to collect bluebooks for a file to be placed in the new Student Union building, a com mittee. to contact senior inde pendent women for old bluebooks was organized, with Kaye Kens ley as chairman. Vonnie Leith and Phyllis Grif fith were named to work on a joint committee with the Associ ation of Independent Men to plan the Dink Debut for freshmen next fall. Two official delegates to the junior-senior faculty tea Wed nesday were also named. Representatives were instructed to ask for suggestions froin wom en in their units - for improve ments of the Independent, campus newspaper for independent men and women. House to Sponsor Drive for Clothing The Women's Student Govern ment Association House of Repre, sentatives set Jan. 8-15 as the,date for its annual clothing drive, at a recent meeting. Boxes for contributions of 'dis carded clothing will be placed in women's dormitories during• the drive. A suggestion that an t,..aci ditional collection box be • placed in Old Main for faculty members and students outside the dormi tories was approved. The group supported a motion that clothing collected during the drive be sent to Korea, through the local Friends'. organization. Madeline Sharp and Corinne Janssens were appointed co-chair-' men of a committee to make pre liminary provisions for the May Day program next spring. Theta Alpha Phi Will Initiate Seven Seven, members of Players will be initiated into Theta Alpha Phi, dramatics honorary, Sunday, ac cording to Marcia Yoffe, secre tary.
