PAGE ETGHT Groff Appointed To Head NROTC Capt. Rowland H. Groff, has been named to succeed Capt. John L. Woodbury as professor of naval science in charge of the NROTC program at the College. Capt. Groff, tha present com mander of Transport Division 21 at Norfolk, Virginia, previously served as Intelligence Officer in New York, and with the Ameri can Embassy in Copenhagen. In addition, Capt. Groff holds a BS degree in education from Temple University, and received his MA degree in education administra tion from the University of Min nesota. WJAC-TV Cuts Power To Change Channels Local TV set owners will prob ably be unable to receive sound or picture for ten days to two weeks, according to Alvin D. Schrdtt, WJAC-TV station man ager. The Johnstown station is oper ating with reduced power from a standby transmitter while the sta tion is changing from channel 13 to six. The signal given will be snowy and, have some interfer ence. Cadet Drill Team To Be Organized Plans for the organization of an AROTC drill team, the first in Penn State history, were made at a meeting of over 500 AROTC cadets Thursday night in the Ar mory. Rich ard Uppstrom, seventh semester aeronautical engineer ing major, was appointed Cadet Major by Capt. David Wirshburn, advisor of the team. The team will practice once each week but it is not expected to enter competition until spring.
