Three hundred Air Force ' re
serve second lieutenant appoint
ments are open in the Air Weather
Service for college men, both mili
tary and civilian, who can qualify
for meteorology training.
Lt. Col. Jack W. Dieterle, pro
fessor of air science and tactics,
explained yesterday that a bac
calaureate degree with a year of
physics and mathematics credit
through integral calculus is re
quired. He said that selected sec
ond lieutenant appointees for
meteorology training will be or
dered to active duty at the earli
est possible date.

through the Department of Air
Science and Tactics in the Ar
mory.

WSGA Approves
Two Appointments
The Women's Student Govern
' ment Association Senate approved
the appointment of Ann Cunning
ham and Patricia Ellis to the joint
Freshman Customs Board at a
meeting •of the senate yesterday.
The two women were recom
mended by Mary Elizabeth Petit=
gout, representative of the Fresh
man Regulations Board. The reg
ulations board previously ap
proved the recommendations.
Kalodner to Compete
In WD Chess Meet
Howard Kalodner, member of
the Penn• State Chess Club, will
play all challengers in a simul
taneous chess tournament from
'12:30 to 3:30 p.m. today -in the
West Dorm lounge.
No fees are required for entries
in the tournament, and those de
feating Kalodner will be awarded

In Car Crash Tuesday
Walter H. Wiegand, director of
'the physical plant, escaped in
jury Tuesday evening when a car
collided with the car he was driv
ing. He was turning into his drive
way at the time. Damage was
estimated at $450.
