Shunil was surprised at "the preponderance of automobiles" in the United States. "I'd heard there were a lot of automobiles here, but I didn't know what that meant. "People of India think of America as a Utopia." Rustum and Prodipto we r e both surprised to see American girls playing hockey. It is one of their favorite games, but only men play it in India. Their choice of sports is British. They miss cricket, which all of them played for their colleges. Shunil de scribes the sport as one of en durance, "sometimes lasting as long as five days." Incidentally, Shunril rides to classes on a small bicycle—prob ably to keep in shape. Prodipto prefers motorcycling; his ambi tion is to make a cross-country trip before he leaves the United States. Rustum, Prodipto. and Shunil plan to return to India as soon as they can. Rustum hopes to be able to work for the United States government or a private agency in India.
