Debate
(Continued from page one)
"Resolved: That the federal gov
ernment should adopt a perman
ent program of wage and price
controls."
This year's meeting was Notre
Dame's third successive year in
the finals, having won in 195
and taken runner-up positions in
1951 and again this year.
State's pair were the only two
to remain undefeated throughout
the entire tourney, while .Dart
mouth was listed with a lone set
back and Notre Dame with two.
All three came at the hands of
Penn State.
Lewis, besides sharing the spot
light with Alderdice in team de
bate, placed fourth in the extem
poraneous_ e aking contest
h
among t e 29 schools entered.
Lewis' topic was evaluation of
the United States as mediator in
the Middle East.
Moshannon
(continued from page two)
it would be suitable for airline
operations.
The federal government cannot
participate further in improve
ments at Black Moshannon for
airline purposes, he said, as it is
already adequate for private
flying.
"Another point to be given ser
ious consideration is the fact that
a great many cities now being
served by scheduled airlines com
plain that the airpirt is too far
out," Wessel explained.
The time saved in air travel is
lost, to a considerable extent, by
the time it takes to travel to and
from the airport, he said. •
State College is extremely for
tunate in having a suitable site
located adjacent to the city, he
said.
