Whether this will work is still very much
through some strange logic, some-1
one seems to have attributed
Cpach Elmer Gross’ success with
this year’s basketball team to
exactly that reason.
The rumor as Gross has heard
it is that he hasn’t spoken to his
wife in three weeks, which would
date back to the point where the
Lions were beginning to develop,
a sizable winning streak.

he wouldn't ad

“With the ‘ team playing the
way it is, I’m satisfied with the
system I’m.using now. And be
sides, I don’t think my wife would
let me use the other one,” he
chuckled.
Incidentally, Mrs. Gross is an
avid basketball fan and attends
all the games in Rec Hall.
Such is the price of success.
When a coach is winning only
half the games, all anyone
wants to know is who he's going
to start in the next contest.
But just get a winning streak
started, especially one about 12
games long. Then they even

the Adam Kois-Jim Mclnerney
boxing match tomorrow at Army.
Mclnerney is the defending East

only loss this season has been to
Chuck Speiser of Michigan State,
defending national 175 pound
champ.
Lion boxing fans will remem

TKO’d Chuck Bolger in a dual
meet two years ago in Rec Hall.
Later in the nationals, which were
also held in Rec Hall, Speiser
went to the finals before being
eliminated.
Kois, in his first collegiate
fight at Catholic U. Tuesday
night, TKO'd his opponent in
35 seconds—just about enough
lime to dance to the center of
the ring and throw a punch.
The boys at Army are getting a

get to see the Kois-Mclnerney

“This is undoubtedly one of our
biggest trials of the year, and if
we can get by the Cadets we will
have cleared our biggest hurdle,”
the Lion gym mentor said.
The gym team, however, has
several more rough opponents on
its schedule. After its meet with
the Cadets tomorrow afternoon at
