Neither did most of the 70 peol ple who heard the talk on vitri fied china ware given by H. F. Allen, General Manager of the Fall Creek plant of the Jackson Vitrified China Co., last night at the meeting of the American Cer amics Society. Other points covered in the talk on vitrified china ware were American methods, foreign com petition, and the history of the pottery trade. The camel's hair brushes, Mr. Allen explained, were used in painting lines and bands on small orders of china ware which call for under-glaze decorations. "Japanese competition is prob ably the most serious competition American producers face," Mr. Allen said. He also explained that the-low wages the Japanese work er receives is a major reason for this competition.
