FRIDAY, DECEMBER 4 1951 Sigma In IM , • Sigma Nu's boxers yestdrday snapped their tie with de fending fraternity co-champion, Delta Upsilon, by gaining • two win s , one decision and :one forfeit, to go two up on the DU's going into tonight's final round. The finals will start at 8:30 in Rec Hall. Delta Upsilon, however,lwith four finalists, is in a better position to cop the IM crown than is Sigma Nu, who has only two men going into tonight's finals, Moore, ,Engle Win Independents' James Miller and John Dillon moved up to ,the finals via forfeits. Miller ad vanced at the expense of Charles Russo in the 145-pound division, while Dillon won by forfeit over Gary Seybert in the• 155-pound bracket. Lou Riggs, Sigma Chi, injured his arm in winning his quarter final match, and was forced - to wit hd r a w in yesterday's 175- pound go with Sigma Nu's John Moore. In • the 135-pound claSs, Stan - Engle, Sigma Nu, ousted Sam Butler, Alpha Gamma Rho, with a split-verdict. 128-Pounders • Gi 1 Beinhocker, Pi Lambda Phi, won his place in the 121- pound fraternity finals by deci sioning Fred Fieni, Theta Chi. Beinhocker put his reach advan tage to good use in opening up the smaller Fieni. George Freistak, Theta Kappa Phi, ousted Delta Tau Delta's Jim Guerdon in the lone 128-pound bout. Freistak took sharp lefts from his smaller opponent throughout the fight in order to score with his big guns for the verdict. Heavyweight action found Earl Hower, Phi Delta Theta, elimi nating Harry Carroll, Phi Sigma Kappa, in the semi-finals. Hower, downed temporarily in the final frame, kept a long left jab con tinuously scoring in hi s three round decision. Sigma Alpha Epsilon and Beta Theta Pi each advanced a man into the finals in yesterday's •bouts.
