"My dad held me back terri bly," Wynn said in a 3000 mile telephone conversation with a Daily Collegian reporter yester day. Wynn, who appears in "Texas Carnival" which is currently play ing in State College, said that in the early days, when he men tioned his father's name in at tempting to land a job invariably he got one of four replies: Ed Wynn's Son! "1. 'You're that stinking \ Ed Wynn's son. How could you pos sibly be any good.' "2. 'You're Ed Wynn's son. You ought to be good.' "3. 'How did you get in here father buy your way in?' "4. 'Well, Ed Wynn's son! Say, how is your father these days? Good bye'." The hindrance of an actor father couldn't have held - him back for long. Since moving to Town Council To. Hold Dance Tentative plans for a town basketball league and a benefit dance were made by AIM Town Council at last night's meeting. The benefit dance will be held on December 15 in Recreation Hall. The dance, called the "Can Can Dance," will start at 8:30 p.m. end admission will be two cans of food from each person. The food will be given to the Centre County Home. Neil Lehman, vice president, asked council members to try to get ten men from each of the 23 wards and organize them into teams for the league. Thomas Taylor and• Thomas Mears were appointed to find out if playing space was still avail able in Recreation Hall.
