Belle Hop Queen
Photos Due Oct. 15
Oct. 15 has been set as the
deadline for submitting entries
in the contest to select the queen
of the Belle "Hop Ball.
The ball will be held on Oct.
27. All contestants must be full
time students and must be spon
sored by a student group, ac
cording to contest rules.
A nine by. 12 photograph of
each entrant must be submitted
and may be turned in to Adam
Krafczek in 4 Home Economics
Building.
The five finalists will be an
nounced a week before the dance.
Debaters Slate Tryouts
The men’s debate, team will
hold preliminary tryouts at 7 to
night in 305 Sparks.-
Positions on the . team-will "be
open to all male students. - Two
of last year’s top men have been
graduated.
Final tryouts will be held. Oct.

Leonides, independent women’s
organization, will hold an All-
Gollege- election to choose a pres
ident and vice president accord
ing to Patricia - Thompson, ad
viser. A
Vacancies in the offices were
caused by the transfer of Doris
Sher, former president, to the
University of Tennessee and the
resignation of Alice Hennessey,
former vice president. Miss Sher
and Miss Hennessey were elected
last spring.
District elections to the coun
cil will be held this week in liv
ing units. Besides district repre
sentatives, the council consists of
the executive committee com
posed of Eleanor Miller, record
ing secretary; Vivian Peterson,
corresponding secretary; and Eli
zabeth Johnson, parliamentarian
and committee chairman.
The council will meet next
week to nominate officers. Short
ly after this meeting, all indepen
dent women will vote for the
new Leonides officers.
Miss Peterson is now repre
senting the group on All-College
Cabinet.
Philosophy Meeting Set
The Philosphy Club. will hold
its first meeting of the semester
at 8 p.m. tomorrow in 203 Willard
Hall.
Kelly Yeaton, assistant profes
sor of drama, will address the
group.

Mri Olmsted is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. R. E. Olmsted, of Se
wickley, Pa. ,

maid of honor, and Geraldine Ma
grini of Sykesville was brides
maid.
The Rev. John Piathowski of
ficiated at the ceremony before
an altar decorated with gladiola.
A wedding breakfast and recep
tion followed. *
Given in marriage by her fa
ther, the bride wore a white ny
lon net gown, fashioned with in
sets of imported embroidered or
gandy, and ending in a chapel
sweep. A veil of illusion fell from
a bonnet of nylon net. She car
ried a bouquet of white roses and
gladiola.
Mr. Olmsted is president of
the senior class, and is majoring
in journalism.
The couple is residing at 419
W. College avenue.

Mr. Anthony is a senior in
meteorology, and is a member of
