I- was, in the- words of LlU'sjiaSketball coact, shocked. • . ... • • • Now before I start, don't get I me wrong. Far- be it from me •to call name's and shout words like "plagiarisni" to -the four winds, and•• even farther yet to take up any journalistic cudgels at my disposal in.-.defense of Froth, a (ugh) humor magazine published interinittently'through the school year.here at State. But in this in stance, I feel that my 'friend Ron Bonn, . aspiring- young editor of the.aforementioned magazine, has been uproariously, if perhaps un intentionally, undone. - List-of Cliches Boyle cited in his column a list of cliches used. by news commen tators during war time, which he sayg - , he got from another news paper, columnist. The other col umnist says he got it from an Air Force officer in Korea. There can be no doubt that the Air Force officer subscribes to Froth, for the NITTANY CARD' GIFT SHOP . It was published in several other - college •magazines• throughout the country, correctly haming Bonn as the author. And if college humor ragS, notorious for pilfering - their material (Froth included), can give a proper cred it „line -to the piece, so can Mr. Ciaa sta.. Fleeing in confusion . . ." (they're running.) ". . . In this hour of crisis, it would be folly to change horses . . ". (election. year, Democrat.) • The list goes on and on, and al though I would never admit it to Ron's face, it is fairly humorous Bonn himself. in a letter• to the editor of the newspaper: called the list "hilariously funny." And he should know, he wrote it. ' It has been said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. and -I imagine Bonn's size 8 7 /s head is still swelling. But how about a credit line, Mr. Boyle?
