mbb'kr,, irityi, 1951 Athletic Groups To Consider Ban -Both •the Eastern College Athletic conference and the National Collegiate Athletic association will be asked to consider the Penn State athletic advisory board's suggestion that Spring football prac tice and 'the platoon system be eliminated as injurious to "the gen eral health of college athletics?' Dr. Carl P. ,Schott, dean*of the' School of Physical Education and Athletics and ex-n - fficio member of the board, said he planned to address a request for such con sideration to Earl It Yoemans, of Temple University,, executive chairman of ECAC, and Hugh C. Willett, of Southern California, president of NCAA. Penn State's advisory board, a 13-man' group representing stu dents, faculty, alumni and trus tees, advanced these proposals in a report which considers both developments detrimental to the future of college football.
