Trustees
For New
,Mrs. Ethel Sparks Sparks, of
Riverton N - .J., daughter of for
ther president Edwin Erle. Sparks,
has been elected to the Board of
Trustees of the College for a
three-year term.
Mrs. Sparks, a graduate in the
Class of 1916, was one of three
newcomers whose selection was
announced Saturday after an
official count of the alumni vote.
The other choices, also for
three-year terms, were Ben C.
"Casey" Jones, of Pittsburgh, and
Clarence G. Stoll, of Gloucester,
Va. Jones was graduated in 1919,
Stoll in 1903.
Nine Terms
Mrs. Sparks, who is married
ta i Carvel Sparks, also a graduate
of' the College, , was one of the
first two women elected to the
Executive Board when tle Alum
ni Association was reorganized in
1930. She served nine terms on
the Board and was vice-president
from '32 to '34.
• Stoll, who retired as president
of Western Electric Co. in 1947,
was one of the first five alumni
to whom Distinguished Alumnus
Awards were presented at Hon
ors Day in May.
Jones, assistant manager of
lines for West Penn Power Co.
in Pittsburgh, is now serving his
20th consecutive term as a mem
ber of the Alumni Council, and
his third term as president of
the Alumni Association. He has
long been identified with the
development of the athletic pro
giam at the College.

The fourth incUrnbent, J. A.
Boak, of New Castle, was not a
candidate for re-election.
300 AF Clerk-Typists
Complete Training
A total of 300 men enrolled in
the school for clerk-typists at the
College have graduated in the
past month.
These men were grouped into
four classes with 50 graduates in
the first class, 100 in the second
class, 50 in the third class, and
100 in the fourth class.
The Air Force men will depart
for furloughs before reporting to
their new assignments.
