In the first of the silver anni
versary series of the„ Priestley
lectures, Monday night, Dr. Gro
ver C. Chandlee, professor emer
itus of chemistry, described the
background and development of
the cohcept of the nature of
acids, terming it as one of the
most important fields in theoret
ical as well as applied chemistry.

hower introduced Dr. Chandlee
whose topic was "The Historical
Concept of the Nature of Acids."

Megargel Wins Award
For Television Paper •
Leland Megargel, senior in the
School of Electrical Engineering,
was the winner of a contest
sponsored by the Centre County
sub-section of the American In
stitute of Electrical Engineers
and Institute of Radio Engineers.
He received the award for his
preparation of a technical paper on
"The Design of Flyback Power
Supplies for Television Receiv
ers."
