Ross To Lecture
On World Affairs
The director of International
Affairs for the Congress of In
dustrial Organization, Michael
Ross, will address the student
body in economics and commerce
on Tuesday in 121 Sparks at
1:30 p.m.
• His topic.will be "Labor's' Par
ticipation in International Af
fairs."
Ross will speak to the Econom
ics department and the Industrial
Relations Research association at
a dinner at noon, Tuesday in the
Nittanv Lion inn before his ad
dress in Sparks, John Dale, IRRA
vice president, said yesterday.
Since his appointment as the
director of the newly-established
CIO Department for International
Affairs, Moss has attended nu
merous international trade union
conferences in European coun
tries, representing the CIO in re
lations with the State department
and ECA.
The activities committee of De
partment of L'conomics and Com
merce and the Penn State student
chapter of Industrial Research as
sociation are sponsoring Ros s'
speech.

States in 1932. He worked as re

Of Reading Hours
The fourth in the 1950-51 ser
ies of reading hours sponsored
by the Speech department will
be held in the home economics
living center, 8 p.m., Monday.
Three students will read at the
program. Lorraine Spitler will
present Stephen Vincent Benet's
"The Sobbin' Women"; Sony a
Tiles will read a segment of Sid
ney Howard's "The Silver Cord";
and Charles Schulte will present
a portion of Shakespeare's "Oth
ello." Joada Oswalt will be chair
man.
This school year marks the
third annual renewal of these
programs, under the direction of
Harriet D. Nesbitt, assistant pro
fessor of speech, and William W.
Hamilton, instructor in speech.
The readings are open to the pub
lic.
Coleman Named Director
Dr. Howard S. Coleman. for

at the College, has been named
director of Bausch and Lomb
Optical company's scientific bu
reau.
Later he became research di
rector of the Industrial Union of
