Army defeated Navy, 31-7, last
night in the first game of the
Women’s Recreation association’s
Army-Navy basketball series.
Members of these teams were
selected from outstanding players
in women’s intramural basketball
by Miss Mildred Lucy, WRA fac
ulty advisor, and game officials.
Marilyn Williams, intramural
chairman of the association, is in
charge of the series. These teams
will play again tonight and to
morrow night.
Girls on the Army team are
forwards—Dolores Bertoli, Betty
Gleim, Eve Laning, Molly Mal
lard, Ann Miller, and Marilyn
Porter; guards—Peggy Lamaster,
Mabel Marple, Nancy Mohn,
Nancy Roess. and Helen Rusinko.
Playing for Navy are forwards
—Pete Caraway, Chippy D u d a ,
Sandy Hackett, JoAnne Hoy,
Dotty Rose, and Mi m i Unger;
guards—Ann Broomall, Gene De
ger, Jane Shettel, Louise Waltz,
and Jane Whitney.

highlights of his play for Jeff
rey was a last minute goal in the
1950 Soccer Bowl which averted
defeat by San Francisco and en
abled the Lions to bring a 2-2
tie back to State College.
Clothing Drive
The annual WSGA clothing
drive began yesterday and
will continue until Friday.
The clothes which are donated
will be given to the Friends
association. They will send
them to needy children in Eu
rope and Korea.
The collection boxes were
decorated by members of the
house of representatives and
have been placed in the
hostesses’ offices.
