WSGA Retreat
To Begin At 9
The .WSGA retreat will be held
Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.
in Hemlock cottage, located be
side Grange dormitory.
The purpose of the retreat is
to educate' the girls in student
government and,to produce bet
ter understanding of the consti
tutions of the various women’s
organizations on campus. Mem
bers of WSGA, WRA, Panhel and
Leonides will attend the retreat.
During the morning sessions
the constitutions of the women’s
organizations will be read and
two joint meetings will be held.
WSGA and WRA will meet to
discuss women’s elections, and
Panhel and Leonides will discuss
the orientation week program.
The afternoon sessions will be
devoted to general discussions of
two major subjects, ■ "how to
create interest in women’s stu
dent ; government” and “should
we have a training program for
leaders?”
At 4:15 p.m. Miss Mary Brew
er, assistant dean of women, will
summarize the day’s activities.
Phi Sigma Sigma
Members of Kappa Alpha Theta
sorority were entertained by Phi
Sigma Sigma Sorority in their
chapter room on Wednesday,
from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Santa Rough Time
Christmas wrappings and emp
ty dixie cups were scattered on
the floor of the White hall lounge
after the annual WRA party.
Approximately 75 children be
tween the ages of three and six
from Windcrest trailer camp at
tended. Two Mickey Mouse and
one Donald Duck cartoons were
shown.
The gymnasium which was to
be the scene of a group of games
provided a lot of space for the
energetic tots who just wanted to
run around.
While awaiting the appearance
of Santa Claus, Anne Forrest told
stories when the children were
grouped around the Christmas
tree.
Paul Beighley played Santa
Claus and handed out presents to
the audience. Santa had to think
fast when one of the older chil
dren present said, “I don’t believe
you are Santa Claus.”
“I’m not the real Santa Claus
but I’m one of his helpers,” was
the reply. The answer was satis
factory.
Ice- cream, apples, candy canes,
and cookies were/served before
the children left.
pajama party in the chapter
room on Monday night. A skit
was presented and refreshments
were served.

Air iOTC Plans
Women's Program
Coeds at the College may soon
get a chance to take an ROTC
course lepding to a reserve com
mission in the Women’s air force.
Lt. Col. Jack W. Dieterle, pro
fessor of air science and tactics
at the College, said that the Air
ROTC department wants to know
kow many women students would
he interested in such a course.
Colonel Dieterle pointed out
that the survey is being conduct
ed for planning purposes, and
no such program has as yet been
authorized.
