Advice To Women
On Yuletide Giving
In response to a flood of requests at our “Advice to the Love
lorn” desk, the society page today departs from its usual coverage
of fraternity blanket parties, to offer some advice on Christmas
giving. So if all you campus lovelies will just draw up a chair and
make yourselves comfortable, Holiday Harry will dispense a few
tips on what to give the male ani
mal for the Yule tide donny brook.
You’ll find, girls, that a man’s
taste runs to the simpler things
of life. Expensive gifts are sel
dom necessary to make the man
in your life happy at Christmas.
Most men don’t want a girl to go
out and spend a lot of money just
for .them. We he-males are con
tented with just a small remem
brance from the one we love.
Give Cars
First on any girl’s Christmas
gift list should be a car. However,
keep in mind that fancy cars are
not necessary; the cheapest mod
el of a convertible is usually ac
ceptable. And remember, always
buy with the idea of matching
colors. If your one-and-only has
blue eyes, a green car is most
distasteful. Most men would pre
fer no car at all to one that does
not match their wardrobe or com
plexion.
However, if even convertibles
are slightly above your compre
hension, the ever-suitable jewelry
is available. Try, always, to keep
your choices simple and inhibited.
Diamond tie-clasps and ruby cuff
links are old favorites and al
ways nice, or you could give him
a good wristwatch. A simple, gold
plated, 17 jewel is fine for most
casual occasions.
Next, of course, you can always
give clothing. Men like to get
