Mardi Gras Cup Won
By AOPi; KD is Second
Alpha Omicron Pi won possession of the Mardi Gras cup for
the second consecutive year by selling 1,129 tickets at the Mardi
Gras Friday night. Kappa Delta was second with 676, and Gamma
Phi Beta was third, selling 527. Alpha Omicron Pi's booth was a
show entitled "Round the World with the AOPi Dancing Girls."
Kappa Delta had "Club Pigalle" and Gamma Phi Beta had a dart
game called "Beat Boston."
Pat Helms Crowned King
Pat Heims was crowned king of
the Mardi Gras, after he won
from among sixteen candidates.
Approximately 4500 votes, at a
penny a vote, elected the king.
This year proceeds from the
Mardi Gras totaled $1139.69. This
is almost $4OO more than last
year's total. The profits will go
into the Charlotte Ray Scholar
ship fund, which provides schol
arships to needy women students.

The total amounts collected
from each booth at the Mardi
Gras, which is sponsored yearly
by Mortar Board, are: Alpha Om

$67.60; Gamma Phi Beta, $52.70;
Theta Phi Alpha, $51.80; Zeta Tau
Alpha, $41.10; Kappa Kappa
Gamma, $40.50; Alpha Chi Ome

90; Chi Omega, $30.90; Alpha Xi
Delta, $21.90; Kappa Alpha Theta,
$21.60; Alpha Gamma Delta, $21.-

Alpha Gamma Rho
On Saturday afternoon Alpha
Gamma Rho fraternity entertain
ed the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority.
Entertainment included listening
to the Penn State-Boston College
football game, ping pong, skits,
group singing, and round and
square dancing.
Sigma Delta Tau
Sigma Delta Tau sorority enter
tained Alpha Epsilon Phi and Phi
Sigma Sigma at a pajama party
on Saturday night. Games were
played and a skit preceded - the
refreshments.
Phi Sigma Kappa
The pledges of Phi Sigma Kap
pa entertained the pledges of
Theta Chi, Alpha Chi Sigma, Del
ta Sigma Phi, and Phi Sigma
Delta Friday night.
On Sunday afternoon Phi Sig
ma Kappa entertained the Kappa
Alpha Theta sorority. There was
dancing and a buffet dinner was
served afterwards.
Sigma Nu
Sigma Nu fraternity entertain
ed Alpha Chi Omega sorority
Sunday afternoon. Following a
short skit by the Sigma Nu's, an
informal party and dinner was
held.
Phys Ed Mixer
A mixer for all physical educa
tion majors will be held in the
TUB tonight from 7-9:30 p.m. The
school of recreation will handle
the program, which will include'
games and square and round
dancing.
Intramural Results
Phi Mu defeated Kappa. Delta
and. Alpha Epsilon Phi won over
Philotes in intramural ping pong
competition Thursday.
In the only basketball game of
the night Phi Sigma Sigma for
feited to the Nittany Co-Op. •
