NSA to Champion Views
Of US Students at Parley
The National Student Associa
tion will champion the views
of more than 800,000 American
students at the World Student
Congress to be held this August
in Prague, Czechoslovakia, ac
cording to an NSA statement.
The congress, sponsored by the
commun i s t-dominated Interna
tional Union of Students, has
been accused by the NSA of in
viting only a "token" two-or
three-man delegation from the
United States.
"We will form a full 12-man
observer-delegation to attend the
Prague Congress,' the staff state
inent declares.
At previous meetings of the
lUS, distorted views of the con
ditions of American campuses
and life in the U. S. have been
made by unrepresentative Am
erican students, NSA observers
have reported. •
The NSA had protested vig
orously allegedly undemocratic
action of the lUS in sending the
"official" American invitation to
the Committee for International
Student Cooperation, a member
less group which sprang up, after
the NSA suspended negotiation
for affiliation with lUS follow
ing the 1948 Czech coup, the
statement adds.
