Research in the Petroleum Re
fining LaberatorY, directed by Dr.
M. R. Penske, will be continued
under an agreement. with Stand
ard Oil De",elopment Co. which
provides a $40,000 grant.
The American Petroleum Insti
tute has granted 08,000 to pros
vide for continuation of research
on synthesis of hydrocarbons of
high molecular we?ght. Dr. Robert
W. Schiessler, assistant . professor
of chemistry, heads the project.
The Allied Chemical and toYe
Corporation with a grant of $l,-
200 has continued a felloWship in
chemistry for the - 1950-51 year.
