Cabinet Hears

The Cabinet passed the amend
ment without dissent.
Zakor also brought, up to the
Cabinet a proposal to Place a defi
nite time limit on customs. Keller
and Gabriel spoke . again, both
recommending that customs be
placed on a trial basis, and that
after the first week of classes,
which would correspond to the
first week of customs, Tribunal
and possibly the Hat Societies
Council meet to discuss the dura
tion of customs.
Final Say .
Cabinet still would have 'the
final say as to the length of cus
toms.
It was recommended in several
different ways that the lifting of
customs be attended by festive
ceremonies.
No action was taken on the pro
posals, Cabinet taking the sugges
tion to "wait and see how they
work."
Cabinet also considered a list by
Allen for Cabinet Service Awards
to supersede a previous list pre
sented to Cabinet. The list con
tained 86 names of graduating
seniors who have given• outstand
ing service to the senior class
and to the College. The list was
passed unanimously.
Appointments
All of Davis' committee ap
pointments were approved with
out any objections.
The request of John Clark, a
student, that cabinet back the ef-

was referred to the newly ; -formed
campus Safety and. Upkeep com
mittee.
Robert Fast was named chair
man of the Student Union Com
mittee upon the recommendation
of James MacCallum, retiring
