Sigma Pi and Alpha Phi Alpha
advanced into the semi-finals of
the fraternity basketball tourna
rxient Tuesday night while Dorm
3, Dorm 14 and the Boppers mov
ed into the quarter-finals of the
independent half.
Unbeaten Alpha Phi Alpha
pulled an upset by knocking off
the highly touted Tau Kappa

ball game. APA held a five point
bulge at halftime and staved off
a last half rally to hand the TKE's
their 'first loss in nine contests.
Theta Chi gave Sigma Pi a good
scare in the other fraternity quar

minute and a half, 23-15. Bill
Harvey paced the SP cagers with
ten points.
After seven straight victories,
the Comets bowed out of the in
dependent race when a much tall
er •Dorm 14 squad handed them
their first defeat, 24-20. Behind
all the way, the Comets closed
the gap to one point with just a
few minutes to play but Dorm
14's control of both boards proved
their downfall. John Deyak was
high man for the winners with
eight point.
The Boppers just had too much
for the Architects and walloped
tllem, 32-13. Fred Levin played a
fine ball game for the victors and
cut the cords with 12 big markers.
