Leaders of Nine Leagues
Vie for Basketball Crown
WRA basketball entered its final week of play on Monday night
with the leaders of each of the nine leagues playing. Monday night's
winners played Tuesday's contenders in elimination games. The
same procedure will be used for the remainder of the schedule.
Ath NW-I defeated Ath 21-18 in the first game of the play
offs on Monday night. Leading 12-9 at half time, NW-I was given a
stiff battle by SW-I in the final
period of the game. Carroway
with 12 points and Kronenwetter
with 9 paced the winners while
Pat Frank of SW-I accounted for
13 points,
In League II SE-I, undefeated,
and NW-I of League I battled to
a 23-23 tie with SE-I coming from
behind to even the score. Carro
way again took scoring honors
for NW-I with 15 while Henninger
of SE-I made 13 points.
Leading 24-15 at half time Elm
Cottage had little difficulty in
subduing Mac Allister with the fi
nal score being 32-19. Joanne Ho
well with 13 points and Dottie
Noll, 15, lead their team to vic
tory. With 12 points, Linda Patton
lead Mac Allister's attack.
In the playoff of a tie Mc:l4day
bight NW-I defeated SE-I 36-29 to
gain control of Leagues I 'arid 11.
Tompkins lead the SE-I team
with 20 points while Frank. 14,
Miller, 10, and Caraway, 12 shared
scoring honors for the victor.
Previously undefeated Delta
Gamma was swamped 36-9 by Al
pha Gamma Delta Tuesday night.
Kriner acounted for 24 points for
the winners,
In a low scoring game Elm cot
tage defeated Zeta Tau Alpha 15-
12 after leading 9-4 at half time.
Powerful Leonides crushed Phi
Mu 25-8 tripling its score in the
last half of the game. Laning
paced the Leonides sextet with
13 points.
Senate Meeting
Shirley Gau4er, president of
Senate, announced that elec
tion of officers and revision of
the constitution are on the
agenda for discussion at to
night's meeting of Senate. The
meeting, which will be held
in the WSGA room in White
Hall, is open to all women
students.

Christmas Drive
Totals $537.93
Final report of the W.S.G.A.
Christmas Drive was presented
at the meeting of the House of '
Representatives Tuesday. The fi
nal total was $537.93. This total
represents the first time W.S.G.
A. passed the $5OO goal since the
war year, 1945.
Of the total, $l7O went to the
American Woman's Hospitals,
$l7O to Mifflin County Child
Welfare, and $197.93 to Mrs.
Hetiel's Emergency Fund.
Barbara Leith was in charge
of publicity for the drive. Assist
ing her were Audrey Brua and
Joyce Jeffries Head in g th e
Chimney Box committee was
Eleanor Griffith. Nan Bierman
and Marjorie Fleming worked on
the committee.
The House of Representatives
conducted the drive. Ella Louise
Williams, chairman of the House,
thanks all the generous con
tributors.
The next meeting of the House
will be the final one for the se
mester. Discussion will be on
the Clothing Drive.
Sigma Alpha Mu
Fred Solomom was recently
elected prior(of Sigma Alpha Mu
fraternity. Other elected officers
were Kenneth Rosenberg, exche
quer; Martin Garfinkel; record
er; and Victor Rubin, pledge
master.
New initiates of the fraternity
