These words proved to be very descriptive of the man who will assist in• directing the Penn State cage squad for the '49-'5O season. The 28-year-old mentor still lcioks capable of stepping into football 'togs and cavorting around the gridiron with the .best;of them. . For John Egli, who with his wife and three children, makes his home in State College, this is really a homecoming..'-Not. only did he star - with the Nittany Lion basketball team '42, .and '43, bitt he also. played a lot of end .in two seasons for former football coach Bob Higgins' grid aggregations. , • Egli' is a native of 'Williamsport and attended South' Williams - • port .
