Town Freshmen
Elect Dennistorr
Barbara Denniston was recent
ly elected freshman town repre
sentative to the Freshman Coun
cil, Anna Keller, WSGA town
senator in charge of the election,
stated yesterday.
Only three percent of the fresh
man town girls eligible to vote
participated in the election, which
was conducted by a postcard
vote, Miss Keller stated. Miss
Denniston was elected from a
group of girls who were nomina
ted early in November at the
WSGA mass meeting. Other can
didates for the office were Nancy
‘Tiggins, Sylvia Powers, and
anne Reist.
Miss Denniston will be a mem
ber of the Council, which is com
posed of freshman dormitory unit
presidents.' Barbara Klopp,
WSGA sophomore senator, serves
as chairman of the group.

Palaskey—Gross
The marriage of Martha Gross
from Beliefonte to Joseph Palas
key from Coaldale was performed
on Thursday, November 24.
Miss Gross, a member of Phi
Mu sorority, is a senior in music
education. She is a member of
the Louise Homer Club, the Col
lege Choir, Treble Singers, the
Concert Blue Band and past
president of Phi Mu.
Palaskey, now an engineer in
Dubois, graduated from the Col
lege last June.
Angus —Knuth
Leslie Rnuth, a senior in Home
Economics at the College, and
Henry Angus, a junior in busi
ness administration at the Uni
versity of Pittsburgh, were re
cently married in the Methodist
church in Lock Haven.
Miss Knuth, who is from Pitts
burgh, is an Alpha Xi Delta.
Angus, a Theta Chi, is from Lock
Haven.
Shupp—Huston
Joan Huston, a former student
in Home Economics at the Col
lege, and Franklin Shupp, a
graduate in psychology, were
married on Thanksgiving Day
in Johnstown.
Miss Huston, an Alpha Xi
Delta, is from Paridsville. Shupp,
who is from Mount Joy, is a mem
ber of Kappa Delta Rho.
Taylor—Mead
Marjorie Mead of State College
and James Taylor of Bellwood
were married in formal ceremony
in the State College Presbyterian
Church on Saturday, November
26.
Miss Mead, majoring in music
at the College, will graduate this
February. She is a member of
Phi Mu, Cwens, Symphonic

New officers elected by the
Beta Sigma Omicron pledge class
are Evelyn Sebastian; president;

Sally Sechler was recently
elected president of the Kappa
Alpha Theta pledge class. Mary
Anne Hanna was elected secre
tary.
Phi Mu
Mary Ann Peck was formally
pledged to Phi Mu on Tuesday
evening.
Zela Tau Alpha
Casey Craig was pledged by the
Zeta Tau Alpha sorority on Tues
day night.

She is also pledge director of
Phi Mu.
Taylor, a major in fuel technol
ogy will graduate in June, 1950.
He is a member of the Kappa
Sigma fraternity.

The marriage of Samuel
Vaughan, a junior in advertising,
to Josephine Loßiondo of Phila
delphia took place at St Andrews
Episcopal Church October 22.
Vaughan, a member of Delta
Sigma Phi fraternity, is art editor
of Froth, photographer for The
Daily Collegian, and a member
of Players.
