Alpha Omicron Pi Receives
Trophy From Mortar Board
Alphh Omicron Pi sorority will receive the Mortar Board bronze
trophy for selling 600 tickets at their "A O Pi Dancing Girls” booth
at the Mardi Gras oh" Friday night. The “Deflation” booth of Theta
Phi Alpha and Gamma Phi Beta’s “Quely-Burl” were second and
third among the sorority booths selling 614 and 502 tickets, respec
tively. \
Rusty Leib, a member of the
sponsored by Kappa Alpha Theta,
was crowned king of the carnival.
Proceeds of the annual Moftar
Board affair amounted to approxi
mately $670 announced Nancy
Smith, treasurer. This money will
be added to the Charlotte E. Ray
scholarship fund.

Delta Upsilon fraternity, who was
WRA Initiates
Sports Program
Basketball and table tennis
season opens tonight for women
students in the White Hall gym
nasium.
This year there are 36 teams
competing , for the basketball
crown as opposed to 24 teams
last season. All 19 sororities are
participating as are Leonides and
Philotes. The other 15 groups are
made up of students from the
various dormitories, cottages, arid
town houses.
Garnet will be refereed by stu
dents from a refereeing class, stu
dents with ratings, and faculty
members. Timers and scorers are
needed for each game. Any stri
dent interested in doing this work
should, contact Regina Williams,
assistant intramural chairman at
898. No previous experience is
required.
Basketball will be played Mon
day through Thursday with start
ing times at 6:30 and 7:30 plus an
extra 8:30 session on Thursday.
Teams are divided into nine
leagues. If a team is more than
ten minutes late the game must
be forfeited.
Table tennis in the game room
is played simultaneously, with

Freshman Return
‘Pop-in-Night’
A second “Pop-In-Night” will
bi held this Sunday evening from
7 to 9 o’clock so that freshmen
can return the visits from the
upperclass women, according to
Shirley Gauger, ■ president of
WSGA.
Upperclass coeds visited the
freshmen' in Atherton Sunday
evening as the first phase of
WSGA’s traditional custom es
tablished to help the women of
the College become better ac
quainted.
Freshmen coeds are asked by
Miss Gauger to visit as many up
perclass women as possible dur
ing the two-hour period. All up
perclass Women, living in Sim
mons, McElwain, and Grange, are
also requested to make the
'‘Night” a successful event by re
maining in their rooms at that
time.

Five Vacant Offices Filled
In WSGA, WRA Elections
. Five vacant offices of WSGA anti WRA were filled in yester
day’s final balloting in which 501 girls voted.
New officers of WSGA, in addition to those filled in the
elections last spring, are Joan Lee, freshman senator; and Virginia
Miller, treasurer. Barbara Klopp and Sally Shoemaker tied for
sophomore senator.
