OCTOBER 20, 1040 ; Felbaum Gains Award As Week's Top Player An \insung lineman came into the sports spotlight last night when Fred Felbaum, Nittany guard, was named the outstanding football player of the week fbr his work in the Penn Stater Nebraska gamer , Felbaum, a 195-pound reserve guard from Youngstown, Pa., charged the Husker line and broke up plays throughout Saturday’s FIRST AWARD This award, presented by the State College Commerce Club, is the first of ,a weekly series which will honor a Lion gridder after each game. Movies taken of the game showed that Felbaum complete ly outplayed Nebraska’s out standing center, Tom Novak, on defense and did an excellent blocking job oh offense. fted, who started the season as a reserve guard, gained a posi tion on the starting 1 team last week for hi? play against Bos ton College.
