Thespians/Willy 1 Hailed
As Fast-Stepping Revue
(Continued from page one)
the stage in bathing suits of the
Nineties.
Frank Lewis added much to
the Atlantic City scene with his
impersonation of Clarence Pea
body, a “nice fella” who would
not let himself be pushed around
by Nate Pletcher, the lifeguard.
Joel Fleming, the lifeguard,
radio program, “N a, m e Your
Poison,” ad libbed plenty of zip
into a scene that easily could
have been muffed. And let a
word.be said for the three young
ladies from the audience who
proved themselves good sports as
contestants.
Bringing the show to an end
was the almost professional
scene, “Calypso.” Harry Wool
ever and “Mike” Claysmith de
serve no end of praise for a job
well-done as the native dancers.
Much' can be expected of both
in shows to come.
Credit should go to Woolcver
again, for all the dances of the
show, which he conceived and di
rected.
Laurels must also go to Bob
Gardner for the direction of the
music,' Duke Morris for direction
of the orchestra, and Abe Lein
bach, voice director.
The Alumni should be able to
overlook a few shortcomings of
“Welcome Willy,” and settle
down to a pleasant evening to
night and tomorrow night.
