MONDAY. JUN?! 27, 1048 Sykes Plans Varied Recreation Schedule for Main Session Continued from page one which is in front of Old Main and directly back of the Pugh street entrance to the campus. There will be no charge for these Hollywood showings, which in clude such films as “Stagecoach” with John Wayne, “Mr. Deeds Goes to Town” with Gary Cooper in the leading role, Charles Laughton in “Captain Kidd," Fred Astaire and Paulette Goddard in “Second Chorus,” and “Howards of Virginia,” starring Cary Grant. The order in which the films will be screened has not yet been determined, but the first showing is slated for Thursday, July 7. July 14, 21, 27 and August 2 are the other dates for the movies. A free-admission Summer Ses sion reception is booked for the TUB from 9 to 12 p.m., Thursday. Similar dances, with a 50c admis sion charge, are slated for July 8, 23 and 29. The July 23 affair will be devoted to square dancing. “Fun Nights” will be held in Recreation Hall Saturday, July 9, 16 and 30. Dancing, ping pong and card games wiH be the main en tertainment. July 4 will be a red-letter day in the Session’s recreational pro gram. A bike hike and picnic lunch is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and last till 1 p.m. Saturday will be the final day for students to obtain tickets. Priced at $1 each, they can be purchased at the Bicycle Agency, 401 E. Col lege avenue, or reservations can be made by dialing 4200. Swimming is open to men every day. Monday through Fri day, at the Glennland Pool—lo cated on the comer of East Bea ver avenue and Pugh street. The pool will be available from 3 to 5 p.m. and no charge will be made. Towels and lockers will be provided, and suits are not neces sary. For the women, the White Hall pool will be used from 3:30 to 5 TEXT BOOKS -NEW-USED LAUNDRY SHEAFFER - WATERMAN PENS: PENCILS p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with Tuesday and Thurs day sessions set for 7:30 to 9 p.m. Women must purchase towel locker tickets at the Bursar’s Office. The tickets cost $2 and are good for the entire Main Ses sion. Every Tuesday from 8 until 10 p.m., the Glennland Pool will be the scene of an admission-free recreational swimming program. Swimmers should bring their own suits, but towels and lockers will be furnished. On Monday, July 4, co-reereational swim ming will take place in the Glennland from 2 to 5 p.m., and recorded music will be played. Athletic activities in softball, golf and tennis are being planned by Sykes and the intramural de partment. Full details are on page ,4.
