Panhellenic Council Acts
rro Establish junior Grout)
Panhellenic Council at its meeting Tuesday night voted to
cAublish a Junior Panhel after discussing the merits of such an
organization as proposed by Dolores Jelacic at a previous meeting.
Central purpose of the junior society is to eventually strengthen
Panhel by way of making younger sorority members more conscious
of the Council's activities and preparing them to ultimately become
better senior members. MEMINIMMIIMMENNE
Specific considerations of the
junior organization would be the
learning of Robert's "Rules of
Order," helping with rushing
ideas and planning social events.
Eliminate Seniors
Panhel hopes eventually to el
iminate seniors from the Council
and to compose its membership
of juniors and sophomores, while
membership of Junior Panhel
would be freshmen. The vice
president of Panhel will serve as
chairman of the junior group.
Gilda Greco, chairman of the
rushing committee, announced
the tentative plans and dates for
next semester's formal rushing.
The period will begin on Satur
day, October 1, with the first open
houses and end Sunday, October
15. Coke date hours will be from
1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 6:30
io 7:30 p.m., thus eliminating the
previously held morning sessions.
Banquet
More discussion on the propos
al of holding a Panhellenic ban
quet was tabled until the next
meeting. Miss Jelacic, president,
reminded sororities that banners
and flags used at the IFC-Panhel
Ball could be picked up at the
Kappa Delta house this week.
The Council concluded its busi
ness by donating $lO to Aloha
Phi Omega's planned Easter Egg
flunt for Windcrest children. The
next meeting of the Council will
be held at the Kappa Kappa
Gamma house at 7 p.m. April 26.
