After losing the foil, 6-3, State came back to take both the epee and sabre events by the same 6-3 margin. Rolf Ward and Rex Dyer were the Lions' outstanding per formers as both captured three straight matches in the epee and sabre contests respectively. State's Art Ward won both his jousts in the epee class. Co-captains Harry McCarty and Paul Younkin each took two out of three matches for the Lions.
