Women Plan
Swim Meets
Organizational meetings of co
cda interested in participating in
national swimming telegraphies
for women will be held in White
Hall pool at 7:30 p.m. today and at
7 p.m. tomorrow for those unable
to attend the first meeting.
Participation is not restricted
to members of the swimming
club, although the latter sponsors
telegraphies, and all girls inter
ested in speed swimming are urg
ed to report to one of the meet
ings. The regular swimming club
program will be carried on as
usual.
Dates for the two telegraphic
meets have been set as somejjjme
in the latter part of February.
Best times of the swimmers will
then be sent to a host school, se
lected by district and previous,
record in telegraphies.
The College team was winner
of the Eastern Region last year
accumulating 80.5 points. The
team gained first, second and
fourth place in the 40 yd. crawl,
third place in the 40 yd. back
crawl and breast stroke, a tie for
first in the 100 yd. crawl, and
third place in the 100 yd. breast.
The team secured fourth place
in the Nationals topped by Pur
due, Michigan State and Skid
more. Lee Ann Wagner, last
year’s president of WRA, placed
first in the 40 yd. crawl, tied for
second in the 5 yd. medley relay,
and placed second in the 100 yd.
free style relay.

Silverburg—Herman
The engagement of Norma Her
man to Edward Silverberg was
recently announced.
Miss Herman, a senior in the
School of Education, is vice
president of Alpha Epsilon Phi.
She is from Philadelphia.
Mr. Silverberg is a commerce
and finance major and is a mem
ber of Phi Sigma Delta and man
ager of the tennis team.

Panhel Plans
Workshop
Panhellenic Council, meeting
Tuesday night, furthered its plans
for establishing the Panhellenic
Workshop, said Adelaide Finkel
ston, president.
The workshop, an innovation
by this year's council, is for the
purpose of ironing out individual
and mutual sorority difficulties
by means of round-table discus
sions. Thus far three round-table
meetings are being planned for
the first Saturday in January.
Panhel delegates, as well as mem
bers of the participating soror
ities, will attend the discussions.
Workshop committee members
are Sarah Gilliland, Deane
Brown, and Miss Finkelston.
Discussion at the meeting also
included plans being made in con
junction with IFC and Froth for
a big week-end being extended
into a week, corresponding to
Dartmouth’s “Winter Carnival”
and Cornell’s “Junior Week.”
The next meeting of Panhel
will be held at the Kappa Alpha
Theta house on December 14, fol
lowing a new system of meeting
in the various sorority houses in
stead of the College buildings.

The marriage of Pauline Glob
isch, Alpha Chi Omega, to Wil
liam H. Parsons, Sigma Pi alum,
took place in Lancaster, Thanks
giving day.
Mrs. Parsons is completing her
senior year while Mr. Parsons is
continuing teaching at the Phila
delphia College of Pharmacy and
Science.
Delta Upsilon
Delta Upsilon fraternity enter
tained the Gamma Phi Beta sor
ority at the fraternity house last
night.
The sorority will hold a Square
Dance at the Phi Delta Theta
fraternity house, Friday, Decem
ber 3.

Theta’s Bazaar
Kappa Alpha Theta sorority
will hold its annual charity ba
zaar for the benefit of the Insti
tute of Logapedics in the chapter
house from 2 p. m. to 5 p.m. Sat
urday.
Sales will include knitted arti
cles, hand printed goods, hand
embroidered articles, novelty
goods and such miscellaneous
items as pot-holders, stuffed ani
mals, sponge toys, oil paintings,
baby booties, and a white man’s
scarf to be initialed upon request
of the purchaser.
Drawing will be held to ascer
tain the winner of the man’s
jacquard hand knit ski sweater,
chanced off by the sorority mem
bers at three for twenty-five
cents and one for ten cents. Sec
ond prize will be a pair of argyle
socks.
The Institute of Logapedics,
located in Wichita, Kansas, at the
University of Wichita, is an or
ganization studying and caring
for the speech defects of children.
The Institute was recently made
responsible for treating veterans
of World War II in that district
who are suffering from speech
difficulties as a result of war
shock.
Kappa Phi
