PAGE POUR Jeffreymen Face Penn A 17-man contingent of Lion soccermen will travel to Phila delphia tomorrow to engage Penn’s Quakers in the “Turkey Bowl” for the Jeffreymen’s last booting contest this year. The booting Lions have much in common with their grid brothers. Both sport a 6-1-1 rec ord to date. Both in seeking their seventh win of the current cam paign close their respective 1948 seasons this week. Their single losses were up sets while both their ties were against powers in their respec tive sports. Both are favored to return to State College at the long end of the score this week. The Lions, who were victors over Army, 2-0: Bucknell,. 2-1; Syracuse, 5-1: Maryland, 1-0; Colgate, 4-2; and Temple. 4-1, should have little trouble in h-ouncing the underdog Quakers. PENN RECORD One of the bright spots of °enn’s record to date, which shows 5 wins, 2 losses and one tie, was a 2-1 triumph over Navy, a team which handed the Blue and White its only loss this year. • Penn and Army battled to a 2-2 deadlock while Swarthmore and Cornell triumphed over the Quakers by 2-0 and 3-0 scores, respectively. His mates in the second-team back field were Gene Rossides, Colum bia; Gil Stephenson, Army; and Ed Finn, Brown. This brings to a total of three the Penn State footballers on the All-Eastern first and second teams, since Joe Drazenovich and Sam Tamburo had previously been selected for the first team.
