The 'Bird'
Reciprocity may not have been
the motivating influence, but any
way Thetas seemed to have ex
tended the meaning to "a duck for
a duck."
Not content with an ordinary
thank you, members of Kappa
Alpha Theta personally delivered
a seven-pound drake to Sigma Al
pha Epsilon as a means of expres
sing gratitude for a duck dinner.
He wasn't supposed to have that
innate capacity for flying, but
something hidden enabled him to
break his leash and disappear.
Pledges scoured the neighborhood
until a relief call from Acacia as
sured the brothers of his where
abouts.
"Minerva" spent Friday night in
the bathtub, closest substitute for
his original habitat. Though a note
specified laying mash and oats as
the proper food a few members
scoffed at the idea and insisted
beer could do no harm. Just in
case, however, "Minerva" was al
lowed corn and bread crumbs.
Because of the problem inno
cent "Minerva" raised, he was
presented to the chapter cook.
Another duck dinner, perhaps?
