Other booths securing the most tickets were Theta Phi Alpha, Alpha Phi Omega, Zeta Tau Alpha, and Alpha Gamma Delta. There were seventeen sorority booths an d two independent booths represented at the car nival. A few fraternities aided the various groups. All proceeds will go to the Charlotte E. Ra y scholarship fund, which helps those girls in need of financial aid for com pletion of their college educa tion. STATE COLLEGE, PENNSYLVANIA Chem Council Holds Election Nominations for the 12 vacan cies existing in the Chemistry and Physics Student Council will con tinue today, preliminary to elec tions in the lobby of Osmond Lab oratory tomorrow. Nomination sheets will be posted on the Os mond and Pond Laboratory Bul letin boards. Senior positions of the council are available to two chemical en gineers, one chemist, and one com mercial chemist. Junior openings include two for chemical engi neers, and one each for science or pre medical and physics students. One science or pre medical, one physics, and one chemistry or commercial chemistry student is needed to complete sophomore representation. Unlimited nominations may be made in each category listed for each class, according to Abram Boller, president of the council. Schilling, head of the physics department, and two members of that department, Clayton H. Allen and Wesley L. Nyborg, will leave on tomorrow morning to attend the 36th meet ing of the Acoustical Society of America being held at the Statler Hotel in Cleveland, Ohio, on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of this week. Mr. Nyborg will present a paper at the meeting entitled "Spectra of Ultrasonic Edge Tones." The paper was prepared in conjunction with Mahlon Burk hard, also of the College physics department. The program at the conference will consist of various contribut ed papers on acoustical subjects, two symposiums, a demonstration lecture on the focusing of sound waves, and a panel discussion.
